Good Morning guys - 

We are two days away from the 2014 Opening Day!  Sunday June 1st the Pirates will take on the Senators at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park in Jeffersonville, IN.

It's gonna be hot and muggy, so be sure to bring plenty of fluids!  We will wear our Gold Pirates uniform tops, with Gray baseball pants, black belt, black socks and black Pirates cap.

Anyone, who doesn't have a cap, contact Bobby.  He has found Pirates hat online and can point you in the right direction.  Otherwise, you may have to find one at Walmart or Dick's or wherever.

If you have money for Grays uniform I will get from you on Sunday.  If you owe me league fee, I will get from you on Sunday.

Happy Memorial Day!

Good Morning PIRATES!

Yes, the rumors are true!  The Grays will remain the Pirates for the first few games of the 2014 season, if not the entire year!  It makes no difference to me!  Hopefully, all players still have there gold and white Pirate uniforms available and didn't sell them on Ebay or use them to mop up an oil slick.

As of today and since we are just days away from the beginning of the season I'm making the difficult decision to go no further in the planning of the new team uniform.  So the Grays uniform is on hold.

We are the visitors this Sunday against the Senators.  We will wear Gold Pirate tops, Gray pants, black belt, black socks and Black Pirates hat!

First game is this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park in Jeffersonville. Please be there at least half hour before (12:30 pm) so I can put together line up and we can take infield practice.  (I will be there early so that anyone wants to take BP in the cage I will have dirt balls).

Good Morning -

First, I want to thank all who made it out for your attendance yesterday at Germantown.  It was a great day to play baseball!

Second, this coming Thursday (May 22nd) we will have the field at Germantown beginning at 6:30 p.m.  I contacted the Senators and they are up to a scrimmage with us on Thursday.  My goal is to get both squads reps at fly balls and grounders and then three or four innings of scrimmage.  Again, that's the goal.  

Third, let me know if you can or can not make it Thursday.  I know it is a little short on notice but we can use all the practice we can get.  For those traveling long distance or have work issues, I understand it may be difficult.  Again, just confirm with me please.

Next, if you are not getting the information that David Stierle posts on the Grays team blog please contact David at (stierle@bellsouth.net) with your email and he will get you hooked up. 

Guys we are two weeks away!  I'm working frantically with Bobby and Bill to get us in our new uniforms.  After seeing all the Blue, Gray and Red all the other teams are wearing, I'm thinking a whole different direction for team color - Chartreuse!  

Last but not least, I still need league fee from four members (I'm one of them).  I also need a signed waiver from two (I'm one of the two).  And I need jersey and hat fee ($70.05) from nine of us (again, I'm one of them).  So if you've paid me your league fee great!  The fee for jersey and hat is needed so we can pay for that expense.

 Guys a quick reminder that on Sunday May 18th - 3:15 p.m. start, we have a scrimmage game with the Wolves at Germantown.

This will most likely be the final tune-up before we get ready to start the season.  Next weekend is Memorial Day and I know many have plans to be out of town.

The only other opportunity is maybe another practice/scrimmage during the week next week.  I will see if we can get something arranged.

Still need league fees from five or six.  You know who you are. I also need waivers and we can get those Sunday or even up to the last minute.  The uniform and hats are coming along slowly.

Good Morning -

Folks, several items I'm trying to get taken care of right now!

We are scrimmaging this Sunday May 4th at 4:30 p.m. against the Colonels at Shawnee - bring an extra 9!  

I think I told several, the other day, it was a 2 pm start that was incorrect. It will be at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Shawnee, going to be a wonderful sunny day so grab your glove and bat and come on out.

Speaking of bats.  Guys we are playing in a wood bat league.  It was brought to my attention that those who don't have a wood bat need to go purchase a wood bat.  Some folks don't want to have their favorite piece of lumber broken and shucked to the wood pile.  Call it superstition, picky, cheap whatever.  If you can't afford a bat than let me know I have a few extras that and I can put you on a payment plan.

Fees - Time to pay to play!  The player fee is $182.35.  If you've paid me, thank you.  If you have not than bring your money to me on Sunday.  I have to deposit and write one check to Dave Allison and I want to get that done pronto!  If you need to mail me a check then my address is 9109 Haviland Avenue, Louisville, KY 40220.

Waivers - I've attached the waiver again for those who did not get it the first time.  I will have copies of waiver on Sunday you can fill out then.  The waiver has to be completed before you can play the first game.

Jersey & Hats - I'm about to finalize the creation of the uniform top and hat and will let you know the cost for these items.  Right now it's about $75.00 bucks for one top and one hat.

Several folks suggested we go ahead and get two tops (home and away) and I thought about doing just that.  But I'm also being selfish (and the tax man is making me pay him) so - for me one jersey will be good for now and we can always get the second later or next season. I will let you know as it develops.

Speaking of jerseys, the following numbers have been claimed by wearing said number for the past years.  If you want a number other than the one you have than speak up now.  These numbers are taken;

Keeling - #8, Bonte - #24, Brown - #4, Hooper #20, Gregory #0, Porta #19, Cubero #6, Stover #5, Nave #22, Denney #3

All other numbers are up for grabs.  Let me know what number you want. now!!!
